Community Area Resource centers (ARCs)
Since 2007
We had set up a Community Development Centre (CDC) in Mankhurd, Started non formal Education with 80 - 100 children attending (70 will be referred to the project School on Wheels). Parent and community meetings are conducted every month. We also conduct door step meetings with entire family. Formed youth group and initiated vocational training programme of making paper bags with women.
Youth are one of the biggest target audiences. By addressing youth issues, Project Crayons proposes to initiate a full fledged and equipped Community Youth Centre, the basic objective being to create opportunities for community youth and youth from the ACT Program (Alternatives for Children in Trouble) to build their personality, inculcate good and positive reasoning, good reading habits, skill building through training and create employment opportunities.
