Exciting Fridays with Mainadevi Bajaj International School
Fridays, 1-3 pm
Location: Mainadevi Bajaj International School (MBIS), Malad West
Fridays have become one of the most awaited days of the week for School On Wheels kids.
Mainadevi Bajaj International School (MBIS) has collaborated with School On Wheels for the academic year 2011-12. Kids from School On Wheels will have the unique opportunity to not only learn drama and creative arts from the 11th and 12th graders, but also to explore a completely different environment and build bonds with kids, teachers and other staff members of MBIS.
We hope this will boost confidence and help the kids become poised and self reliant.
Independence Day Celebration

Location: St Xavier's High School (Goregaon East)
This year Udaan Ghar kids will celebrate Independence Day with kids from St. Xavier's High School.
Kids will be divided into 3 groups along with volunteers from the school where they will take part in loads of fun filled activities like painting, collage making and thumb printing. This occasion will give them confidence to start communicating with the kids from the school and also to understand and observe in an all together new atmosphere.
The day's planning also includes the song, ‘Sare Janha Se Accha’, which will be sung by Hasina, Sita, Jyoti, Kajal and Manisha.
The Independence Day Celebration will come to an end with the distribution of goodies among the kids. We hope this will bring unquestionable cheer among everyone and a boosted morale.

A Day with Toybank

Location: Udaan Ghar, School On Wheels (Ambujwadi), Community Development Centre (Mankhurd)
Toys are most loved possessions of children. Project Crayons along with Toybank, an NGO working towards ‘Giving back their right to a childhood’, has organized a Toy Distribution event at three Project Crayons centers.
Children will enjoy fun filled activities such as painting and storytelling sessions taking place at SOW. At Udan Ghar, girls will craft unwanted items into new treasures and a Magic Show will take place at Mankhurd. Kids as well as ToyBank volunteers will enjoy the exciting distribution of toys.
Not only will Volunteers spend a great time with the kids, but they will also have the chance to see places in Mumbai, which have often been neglected and need our most attention.

Cricket Tournament in United Kingdom
5th & 6th August 2011

We are delighted to announce Project Crayons’ very first event taking place in the United Kingdom made possible by the Luton Indians Cricket Club (LICC).
Northamptonshire County Cricket Club (NCCC) and our very own Indian Cricket Team will play each other in order to raise funds for Udaan Ghar. In between the main match, the under 10’s from NCCC will play a friendly match with LICC‘s under 10.
As a gesture of support, the Indian cricket team have graciously offered to sign a cricket bat for their little fans from Project Crayons which will be auctioned in the UK, by the end of this year.
School Day Celebration

Location: School On Wheels, Ambujwadi
Life is never so beautiful than when children are absorbed in enjoyable activities. Representatives from Aegis and Happy world, an initiative of ESSAR group, will participate in this fun filled event featuring the School On Wheels Programme, supported by Project Crayons at Ambujwadi Community Centre.
NASSCOM Foundation will be providing volunteers to facilitate the day’s many activities for the children. The fun will consist of expression through drawing and colouring resulting in a few designed posters on the topic of health and hygiene. We hope to re-live our childhood days on this special Saturday, rain or shine!
Annual Day Celebration

Location: Community Development Center, Mankhurd
The Community Development Centre and FLAME University graduates will be felicitating the Mankhurd community students on their achievements.
Mankhurd cricket league will also play rain or shine. Trophies will be given to the winners and runners up. Certificates will also be awarded to students who have excelled in the community academics and those who are supported by scholarships under EDP the (Empowerment Dream Programme). In addition, key people as well as corporate and individual patrons of Project Crayons will be felicitated.
A student exhibition is also on display featuring self portraits, comics, poems and collages. In addition, students will be performing four plays on such topics such as the importance of teamwork and the right to education.
Galli Cricket Event

Gully Cricket is a unique corporate-NGO partnership that is not just about handing over a cheque or merely playing cricket, but a corporate partnering and engaging with Project Crayons. The essence of Gully Cricket is unique to our culture and society. This is an opportunity to relive our childhood and to raise funds for supporting our upcoming projects Devikaben Hospital and Research Centre and Young Women’s Welfare Centre. Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2011

Our achievements have been humble since our inception in 2002, and we have been fortunate to be able to touch the lives of over 10,000 people since then.To make these dreams and visions operational and successful we have been raising funds through various fund raising programs including the Mumbai Marathon which has been one of the most important programmes and also the source for motivation for many not for profit organizations(NGOs) like us. Be A Santa

This Christmas we along with our children spread smiles and let mumbaikars experience the joy of giving. Project Crayons in collaboration with We Positive organized this ‘Christmas Event’ called Be A SANTA! This event will be conducted for a week around Christmas. Our children from different projects will be giving toys and notebooks collected to children living in Remand home, studying in Blind and Autistic School. ‘Joy of giving’ has its own essence and flavour. Comics for Rights 2010
11-14 November 2010
Project Crayons in collaboration with World Comics is conducting a ‘Comics Workshop’ to make children understand their rights and to use comics as a tool to create advocacy regarding issues in the communities as a part of Children's Day celebrations. 30 children in the age group of 8 – 14 years from Udaan Ghar and Community Development Centre, Mankhurd will be participating. This workshop is for 4 days from 11th of November to 14th of November 2010. 4 days are filled with fun and excitement.
