Future projects

Young Women’s Welfare Centre

Through the present program (Udaan Ghar) we can support girl children up to the age of 18yrs. We cannot provide them shelter after that age. To counter this phase of transition for these children the YWWC will be designed accordingly to their needs and requirements. We have already bought the plot next to Udaan Ghar for building up the centre.

The Welfare Centre will have a different structure providing shelter for girls aged 16 yrs and above providing them opportunity to pursue higher studies and seek employment. This centre will also conduct various programmes for self employment. It will provide support not only to the young girls from Udaan Ghar but from other similar NGOs.

Hospital and Research Centre

Though we have government hospitals that provide services to the homeless but most of the time we also face resistance. Since working for 11 years for children and youth, Project Crayons has not forgotten to witness the health problem of the inhabitants of sector 7 & 8 of Malwani, Malad (West).

The health condition of the people here are alarming. Though there is a health center between sector 7 & 8 in this area but these center has a very poor infrastructure. These days medical expenses are very expensive and good quality medical facilities are mostly unaffordable.

Infant mortality rates are also high. In case of emergency the nearest hospital is in Kandivali which is quite far from the proposed area.. Most of the children are not vaccinated. Health condition of people residing in the community is alarming. To aware and provide access to cost effective medical facilities to the less privileged people the Devikaben Hospital and Research Centre is proposed.

Objectives of the proposed project

  • To provide quality health care services
  • To provide free medical check up and operation facilities for homeless and less privileged people
  • To provide cost effective medical facilities for people
  • To provide a community based model, this focuses on comprehensive primary care, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of health conditions prevalent in the community
  • To promote healthy communities through clinical care, advocacy, research and education programs
  • To aware school children on health issues and network with health centers and local schools for advocacy and awareness
  • To aware and advocate on various government run health schemes and programmes
